From our Assistant Principal
As a Hamptonian born and bred, I could not be happier to be serving as the Assistant Principal at Phillips Elementary.  Phillips offers a rewarding and enriching educational experience for each and every one of our students as our children‚Äôs academic, character and civic growth is our priority.  Our dedicated and exceptional teachers and staff develop engaging, hands-on and creative learning experiences, preparing our students for the Standards of Learning Tests and to be life long learners.  Our parents‚Äô commitment to their children and our school is evident each day as they visit their children‚Äôs classroom, volunteer and attend student assemblies and PTA events.  There is a special place for everyone at Phillips, and everyone is welcome.
Ms. Franks

Phillips is a fully-accredited, Kindergarten-through-fifth-grade elementary school located in the Hampton Roads area of southeastern Virginia. We are on a traditional, September-to-June calendar. Our school day begins at 8 A.M. and runs until 2:35 P.M. In addition to our regular hours, we have after-school tutorial programs, as well as Chrome and K-Kids clubs sponsored by the Hampton Kiwanis.

The mission of Phillips Elementary School, in cooperation with our families and our community, is to develop the potential of every student through successful learning experiences in a supportive environment so that each shall be a contributing member of our ever-changing society. Utilizing governing values, and a comprehensive school improvement plan, we work hard to make our mission our mantra and are proud to be one of the 24 elementary reasons why Hampton is The First Choice. Phillips Elementary School was built in 1962 and serves as a school of the community. Our PTA is quite active, and countless volunteers give unselfishly of their time in order to promote the quality and quantity of activities at the school.
